20th IFFK 2015-Malayalam film Ottaal Won Suvarna Chakoram

     20th IFFK 2015- Malayalam Film 'Ottaal' Directed by Jayaraj won the Suvarna Chakoram (Golden Crow Pheasant) at the 20th International Film Festival of Kerala,including the audience poll award.

      This is for the first time a Malayalam movie is bagging the Suvarna Chakoram.

    The Suvarna Chakoram consists of Rs 15 lakh cash award, a certificate and a memento.The Malayalam Movie 'Ottal' already a winner in the national and state film awards.'Ottaal' also won three more honors ,the NETPAC, FIPRESCI and the audience poll awards in 20th IFFK 2015.

       The Rajatha Chakoram for Best Director was awarded to Jun Robles Lana for the Filipino film 'Shadow Behind the Moon',It consists of a cash award of Rs.4 lakh, certificate and memento.The Rajatha Chakoram for Best Debut Director went to Bangladeshi director Abu Shahed Emon for 'Jalal's Story',It consists of a cash award of Rs.3 lakh, a certificate and a memento.

         Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s small-budget film, An Off-Day Game, took the FIPRESCI award for Best Malayalam Film 'Ozhivu Divasathe Kali'.

     K G George won FEFKA’s Master’s award.M P Muralikrishnan of Mathrubhumi won the award for best print media reporting while the award for best audio-visual- media went to Club FM.Israeli film Yona won the NETPAC Best Asian film award.

       The closing ceremony of 20th International Film Festival of Kerala On 11 December 2015, Governor P Sathasaivam presented the awards at the Nishagandhi auditorium Thiruvananthapuram. Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and Leader of Opposition V S Achuthanandan were also present.
